EV 9 Migration to 64-bit hardware in multiple server environment

I need a solution

Hi,

In the process of moving a customer from EV 9.0.4 on Windows 2003 to 9.0.4 on 64-bit hardware on Windows 2008 R2. Used the Service Migration Wizard (version 1.0.0.1237) to capture configuration data on source servers (2 total). The export report shows successful completion of the export. When trying to run import using Server Migration Wizard on target servers I receive an error stating "Invalid package name. Please ensure the selected file is a valid server settings migration package" (attached). I have tried various options including recreated the export, but the error still remains. I have completed 2 such migrations for other customers in the last month (both succesful) so I am comfortable with the process. The only potentially significant difference between this environment and others are the server lockdown procedures, and although I question the relevance of this to the error being received I am open minded.

I opened a support call with Symantec this morning, but after 2 hours of troubleshooting we have no leads and Symantec is going to investigate and call back tomorrow.

My other option is to not use the Server Migration Wizard and follow the procedures listed in TECH141481 to manually complete the moves. Unfortunately, the procedures in this document are only for single server environments. Not being a SQL expert I cannot figure out how to modify the SQL scripts that must be run to make the necessary changes for multiple servers. Symantec has confirmed this and will also be looking into that. Any help in this regard would be very much appreciated.

Thanks all!

Shane
